Application
- Up to 140 artists
will be accepted.
- Complete and sign
the application form.
- If work is of a
collaborative nature, all artists' names must appear on the
application.
- A team producing
a single product such as glass, wood, etc. may qualify as a
single exhibitor. However, teams may consist of no more than
two persons and both names must be on the application. Both
artists must sign the application and both artists must be present.
Only work produced by the team may be shown.
- Artists may enter
more than one category for jury. A completed application, jury
fee, self addressed stamped envelope (SASE), and slides must
be submitted for each category entered.
- Upon acceptance
by the Jury, your commitment to the Leesburg Fine Arts Festival
is official. No refunds will be given.
- Notification by
telephone will not be given prior to written notification or
email.
- Notification of
accepted artists will be posted on website.
- Artists put on
wait list will be notified after Jury.
- Artists not accepted
will have booth fee refunded and slides returned shortly after
Jury.
Slides
- Submit four 35mm
color slides, 3 of submitted work and one of display setup.
Applications are juried on the basis of slides. Do not send
photos or work samples.
- Slides submitted
must represent the work exhibited; if exhibited work differs
significantly from slides, the artist will be asked to leave
and forfeit all fees.
- Slides must be
2" x 2" in clean undamaged mounts. Do not send glass
mounts. Place slides in a single plastic sleeve.
- To label each slide,
hold so the image is seen correctly. Place a red dot in the
lower left corner, the medium in the lower center, and your
last name on the top left. Place a number (1 through 4) in the
lower right corner, your No. 4 slide should be of your display
setup
- We cannot accept
responsibility for slides damaged or lost in the mail. We recommend
that you retain a duplicate set.
- Slides will be
returned with notification.
- Based upon your
slide entrees you maybe selected as a featured artist for advertising
purposes.
Prohibited
- Artwork created before 2005, artwork not in a specific category or artwork not for sale.
- Any reproductions:
commercial or photographic, e.g., offset, gravure, photocopies
or commercial publications, including catalogs, note cards,
books, etc.
- The final interpretation
of commercial/reproduction status will be made by the Viewing
Committee. (The printed result of plates, stone or screen, that
is handcrafted, is considered original art when signed and numbered.)
- Production artwork
in any category.
- Artwork reproduced
or copied from works of masters, advertisements, commercial
or widely circulated photographs or offset prints.
- Work created from
kits, crocheting, knitting, picture frames,
velvet paintings, floral arrangements or dried flowers, aluminum
can
sculptures, art supplies, commercial signage or displays, decoupage
and ceramic casts from commercial molds.
- "Buy-Sell Items."
Exhibit
Space
- Each
space measures 11' x 11' with ample room for a 10' x 10' canopy.
- Your displays and
viewing bins must be contained within this space; a double space
may be available for a double fee.
- All artists must
provide an attractive display, sturdy enough to
withstand crowds, wind and weather conditions.
- White professional
display tents are required.
- A Booth Identification
Card will be provided at check-in and must be attached to the
upper left corner of the display at all times during the Festival.
An artist's information statement should also be displayed.
- The Festival Committee
reserves the right to ask any exhibitor for
identification.
- Please note that
not all spaces are level.
Tax
- Each artist is responsible
for collecting and reporting Florida Sales Tax on all sales
made during the Festival. The current tax rate will be provided
in the Artist Package.
Artist
Statement
- A one paragraph
autobiographical statement and description of work MUST be included.
- A two-person team
producing a single product must include a
description of each members' involvement in the creation of
the artwork.
- This statement will
be read during the Jury process.
Fees
- Make
all fees payable to the Leesburg Center for the Arts.
- Jury Fee: $25.00
(non-refundable)
- Booth Fee: $150.00
(includes 7% Sales Tax)
- All funds are deposited
when received. One Check or Charge is
acceptable.
- Visa or MasterCard
accepted.
- A fee of $30.00
will be charged for checks returned for
insufficient funds.
- There are no refunds
for artist cancellations after December 15th,
2007.
